Size guide
Every product page lists the assembled size in inches and, where one is provided, the weight limit for each platform, perch or hammock. A few minutes with a tape measure before you order saves a return later.
Cat trees and condos
- Floor space: measure the spot where the tree will stand and compare it with the base size on the product page. Leave a little room around it so your cat can jump on and off.
- Height: measure from floor to ceiling. Leave space above the top platform so your cat can sit up comfortably.
- Anchoring: tall trees should stand next to a wall so you can attach the anti-tip strap where one is included.
Window perches
- Suction-cup perches: need a clean, smooth, flat pane of glass larger than the perch. They do not work on textured, frosted or film-covered glass, or on screens.
- Sill-mounted perches: measure your sill depth and width and compare them with the product page.
Wall shelves and steps
- Find your wall studs; in most US homes they are 16 or 24 inches apart, center to center. Mount into studs where you can, or use wall anchors rated for the load.
- Plan the spacing between shelves so your cat can step comfortably from one to the next.
Beds and hammocks
- Measure your cat from nose to the base of the tail while lying down and compare it with the inside size of the bed or hammock.
- For hammocks that attach to furniture or a radiator, measure the frame or legs they will hang from.
